Also known as: Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide, NAD Plus
NAD+ is a helper molecule (a coenzyme) found in every cell of the body. Cells need it to make energy, fix DNA and send signals. NAD+ levels drop a lot as we age. This adds to tiredness, a slower metabolism and faster aging. NAD+ taken by mouth is not absorbed well. Injected NAD+ skips the gut and raises NAD+ levels in cells directly. It is popular for energy, brain function, recovery and longevity (a long, healthy life).

In plain English
NAD+ is a helper molecule found in every cell of your body. Cells need it to make energy and fix their DNA. Levels drop a lot with age, so it is studied for energy, focus and aging.
NAD+ is needed for hundreds of chemical jobs in your cells. Mitochondria, the power plants inside cells, use it to make energy. Proteins that repair DNA need it too. Given as a shot or a drip, it skips the gut, where it is poorly absorbed.

Time in the Body
Time in the blood varies; effects in cells last longer
Common Dose
50–250 mg per session (under the skin); 250–500 mg per IV session
How It Is Given
Injection under the skin or IV drip (IV works best for large doses)
How Often
Small daily doses under the skin, or larger doses 1–3x a week
NAD+ is needed for over 500 reactions run by enzymes (proteins that speed up body chemistry). These include sirtuins (proteins linked to long life) and PARPs (proteins that fix DNA). The cells' power plants (mitochondria) need NAD+ to make ATP, the fuel cells run on. Raising NAD+ levels turns the long-life work of sirtuins back on. It also helps mitochondria work better, supports DNA repair and boosts how cells use energy.
Notes
500 mg vial — mix it using the provider's plan. Under the skin: start with 50–100 mg. Then raise the dose slowly to see how the body handles it (flushing, or warm red skin, is common). IV drips usually give 250–500 mg over 1–4 hours. Use it for 4–8 weeks at a time, or as needed for energy or recovery.
Researchers are looking at it for aging, brain diseases that get worse with time, and metabolic health. Clinics use it in IV drips and in addiction recovery.
Powder: keep in the fridge, away from light. After mixing: keep in the fridge and use within 14 days.
Offered by compounding pharmacies (which make custom medicines) and IV drip clinics. It is not FDA-approved as a drug.
