Kisspeptin is the main controller of the body's sex hormone system (the HPG axis). It is the first signal in a chain. It tells the hypothalamus (a small part of the brain) to release GnRH. GnRH then tells the pituitary gland to make LH and FSH. These tell the testes or ovaries (gonads) to make testosterone or estrogen. It is used to support natural sex hormone levels, sex drive and fertility in both men and women.

The Science Behind It

Kisspeptin attaches to its receptor (KISS1R/GPR54), a docking spot on GnRH nerve cells in the hypothalamus. This makes those cells release GnRH in pulses. That leads the pituitary to release LH and FSH. These tell the gonads to make testosterone or estrogen. Kisspeptin starts the HPG chain at the very top. So it offers a more natural way to restore sex hormone production than giving hormones directly.
