Also known as: Lys-Pro-Val, α-MSH (11-13)
KPV is a very small peptide made of lysine, proline and valine. It is the tail end of alpha-MSH, a hormone that also controls skin color. KPV keeps alpha-MSH's strong power to calm inflammation (swelling) and balance the immune system. But it does not darken the skin. KPV is best known for calming gut inflammation, for skin problems, and for the link between the gut and skin.

In plain English
KPV is a tiny piece of a hormone called alpha-MSH, just three building blocks long. It is studied for calming inflammation, especially in the gut and skin.
KPV keeps the calming power of alpha-MSH, but it does not change skin color. It gets inside cells and turns down the alarm signals that immune cells use to start inflammation. It seems to work especially well on the cells that line the gut.

Time in the Body
~15–30 minutes
Common Dose
200–500 mcg per day
How It Is Given
Injection under the skin
How Often
Once a day
KPV gets inside cells and acts on melanocortin receptors (MC1R, MC3R). Receptors are docking spots that pass on signals. This turns down NF-kB, a signal that drives inflammation. It also lowers cytokines (TNF-α, IL-6, IL-8), which are messages that cause swelling. It calms inflammation right where immune cells first switch on. It works especially well on the cells lining the gut. That is why it is often used for IBD, leaky gut and other bowel inflammation problems.
Notes
10 mg vial — mix with 2 mL bac water → 5 mg/mL: 10 units (0.1 mL) = 500 mcg. A cycle lasts 4–8 weeks.
It has been studied for several decades. Research covers inflammation, IBD and skin (dermatology). It is not yet approved as a medicine.
Powder: keep in the fridge. After mixing: keep in the fridge and use within 30 days.
