Epitalon is a lab-made peptide made of four amino acids (Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly). It was created by Russian aging scientist Vladimir Khavinson. It is based on epithalamin, a natural peptide from the pineal gland (a small gland in the brain). It is one of the best-known anti-aging peptides. Studies mostly look at how it may lengthen telomeres (the caps on the ends of DNA strands), bring melatonin (the sleep hormone) back to normal and help animals stay healthy longer. It is often run in short courses once a year.

What does Epitalon do?

Epitalon is a small peptide studied for slowing down aging. Research suggests it may help cells age more slowly and help the body keep a normal sleep rhythm.

The Science Behind It

Epitalon boosts telomerase. This is an enzyme (a helper protein) that keeps telomeres long. Telomeres are the caps on the ends of chromosomes (DNA strands). Longer telomeres help cells keep dividing and may delay cell aging. Epitalon also helps the pineal gland make normal amounts of melatonin. This helps reset the body clock (circadian rhythm). It also affects several gene pathways linked to long life.
